Vermont Studio Center Installation, 2022
From April 24th to May 14th, 2022, I was a resident artist at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. While there, I created many new sculptures.
I turned my studio into an impromptu installation, housing the full spectrum of my work in an eclectic collection. Scroll down to see photos of individual pieces and other installation shots.
I also executed two site specific installations on VSC property: "SPEED QUEEN" & "Bike Chain"
"SPEED QUEEN"
I found the top of this SPEED QUEEN, coin-operated washing machine in the woods near my home. I brought it to the VSC, built a steel frame for it to sit on, and staged it in the Gihon River. Then, I created "SPEED QUEEN (Sign)" as a companion piece, which I eventually hope to install together elsewhere.
"Bike Chain"
I found this bike on the scrap pile at VSC, and partially buried it before wrapping it with chain. As you may know, I've done a lot of wrapping over the years, but never before with chain, so this was new!
