'new new art studio' was founded in 2020 by my partner Susan Smereka and myself, primarily as a workspace for our own private art practices. We needed a place to work and were lucky enough to find a great space in the South End Arts District of Burlington, VT. Located at 4 Howard St, it had a prime location but was grungy enough to accommodate the messiness of our creative processes. A year into our tenure there, Susan began teaching classes out of the space with a focus on Printmaking and Book Arts. Two years in, we started hosting pop-up shows featuring local contemporary art. It has now become a dynamic maker-space with classes, periodic events, and - as always - our own works-in-process. Open by appointment or by special event.
